Abstract

Leukocytes are part of the blood that is white and is a unit of the car of the body's defense system. The availability of Turk reagents to calculate the number of leukocytes is often unavailable or the reagent is available but expired, in anticipation of such condition is done research to look for alternative reagent substitute i.e. using citric acid Powder modification (Citrun). The purpose of this study is to determine the difference in the number of leukocytes using a Turk solution and the modified violet fiber with citric acid (Citrun). The Design on this research was experimental laboratories. The free variables in this study were the modification of the violet fiber with citric acid (Citrun) and the Turk solution, the variable tied to the research was the number of leukocyte counts. The population in this study was STIKes Ngudia Husada Madura student with a sample of 22 respondents. The sampling technique used was simple random sampling. Methods of collecting data on the number of leukocytes using univariate and bivariate. The Data obtained was analyzed statistic with test paired T Test. The average value of the result was using the modifications 6620/mm2 solution while the average value used the Truk 7409/mm2. The statistical test results showed the value of p value < α (0,000 < 0.05), meaning there was a difference in the number of leukocytes using the Turk solution and modification of the violet fiber with citric acid (Citrun) in the student Ngudia Husada Madura. To further researchers it is advisable to do some research by making other diluent solutions variation on number of samples.
